Hinderlie Community of Creative Expression Application

About Hinderlie Community for Creative Expression

Hinderlie Community of Creative Expression creates a safe, supportive, and diverse environment that challenges residents to explore the meaning of creativity in our world and as a part of the lives of global citizens. Hinderlie Community of Creative Expression thus promotes creativity as a mechanism of expression, activism, leadership, and reflection through intentional interactions within a community of creative individuals.

The Hinderlie Community of Creative Expression will be linked to several First Year Experience Program (FYEP) Writing 101 courses on the topic of creativity. During New Student Registration (in June), all first-year residents and commuter students who have opted into this experience will sign up for one of these linked FYEP Writing 101 sections. Co-enrollment in linked FYEP Writing 101 courses is available for Fall semester only.

All first-year residents of Hinderlie will be co-enrolled in one of the linked FYEP Writing 101 sections on the topic of creativity. Continuing residents do not have a linked course requirement.

Several spots are being held in the linked course sections for first-year commuter students to join the Hinderlie Community for Creative Expression. Commuter students who join this community will be required to attend certain co-curricular offerings as part of the linked course.

All students applying for housing in Hinderlie Community of Creative Expression must complete a standard PLU housing application and the application below. First-year commuter students need only complete the application below to opt in.  Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until space is no longer available.  Incoming first-year students interested in linked course opportunity should apply as soon as possible.
