The program is required for students who registered for Writing 201 or FYEP/Writing 101. The book will be sent out beginning of August to the address which you provided when filling out this form
All undergraduate students are highly encouraged to participate in this program. The 8th annual Common Reading Program will allow you to discuss a shared academic experience with other students and faculty during New Student Orientation. The Common Reading Program is your first opportunity to engage in an academic experience with the PLU community. You will meet with a faculty member, student New Student Orientation Guide, and your peers on Friday, September 5th during New Student Orientation to discuss the Common Reading book and learn strategies for academic success at PLU.
This year’s Common Reading book is We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves by Karen Joy Fowler. We chose We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves to challenge you to think critically about issues of family, memory, language, scientific research, vocation, and what it means to be a human being.
Please provide your address below and we can mail you the book!
The deadline to sign up is August 1st.
